형이상학의 근본개념들 [세계.유한성.고독] The Fundamental Concepts of Metaphysics [World, Finitude, Solitude]

하이데거는 이 책에서 “돌은 세계가 없다”, “동물은 세계가 빈약하다”, “인간은 세계를 형성한다” 등 세 문장을 실마리로 삼아, 철학의 근본문제들을 지금까지 어느 철학자도 다루어본 적이 없는 실존적인 방식으로 감명 깊게 다룬다. 우리는 이 책을 통해서 하이데거의 학문적인 열정이 뿜는 열기를 약 100년이 지난 오늘날에도 느낄 수 있으며, 그의 많은 제자들이 이 강의를 듣고 열광했던 이유를 감지할 수 있다.

제2판은 2001년 초판을 번역하며 이 명저를 국내에 소개한 한국외국어대학교 이기상 명예교수가 독일의 클로스터만(Klostermann) 출판사의 2018년 판을 기준으로 전문을 살피고 표현들을 가다듬었다. 이기상 교수가 원서 출판사의 지침에 따라 모든 것을 철저하게 꼼꼼히 다시 보며, 새롭게 번역하는 마음가짐으로 심혈을 기울인 역작이다.

In this book, Heidegger takes three key propositions—“The stone is worldless,” “The animal is poor in world,” and “Man is world-forming”—as clues to address the fundamental problems of philosophy in a profound, existential manner that no philosopher had ever attempted before. Through this work, we can still feel the heat of Heidegger’s academic passion even today, nearly 100 years later, and sense why so many of his students were enthralled by these lectures.
This second edition has been meticulously refined by Professor Emeritus Lee Gi-sang of Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, who first introduced this masterpiece to Korea by translating the 2001 edition. Based on the 2018 edition from the German publisher Klostermann, Professor Lee reviewed the entire text and polished the expressions. Following the guidelines of the original publisher, he re-examined every detail with the same dedication as if translating it for the first time, pouring his heart and soul into this magnum opus.
