저자 ‘더 콜링’은 외국어 학습과 여행에 관심이 많은 모임이다. 김정희와 박윤수는 절친 사이로 수년 간영화와 드라마를 통해 외국어 공부하기를 즐겨 왔다. 캐나다인 친구인 콜린은 책을 만들 때마다 함께한다. 언어란 언어소통의 도구라는 신조로, 외국어 공부와 여행에 관련된 책을 만들고 편집하고 있다. 실제로, 외국인과의 대부분 대화에서는 쉽고 간단한 단어와 표현을 사용하는 것을 알아냈다. 간단명료하게! 좋은 외국어 교재를 만들기 위해 계속해서 열심히 노력하고 있다.
