Until now, the Chinese characterization of 'Eumsikdimibang(음식디미방)' has been regarded as '飮食知味方', and the meaning is 'how to make food delicious.' However, these Chinese characters do not match their meanings. This is because '知味' only means ‘know the taste’ and does not mean 'make the food delicious.' Therefore, '飮食知味方' does not seem appropriate as a notation of 'Eumsikdimibang' as a food cookbook. Accordingly, this study sought a new notation of 'Eumsikdimibang', and as a result, derived a Chinese character notation written '飮食旨美方'. 'Eumsikdimibang' is a Chinese characterization of '飮食旨美方', and its meaning becomes 'A manual for making delicious food'. However, when 'Eumsikdimibang' is a Chinese characterization of '飮食旨美方', the question of how '旨' with the main sound 'ji(지)' can be marked as "di(디)" emerges as a key issue, which could be solved by a common transitional phenomenon at the time. Many examples of '旨(di/디)' have already been shown in the popular novel of the time. If 'di(디)' can be a Chinese consonant of '旨', 'dimi(디미)' can be regarded as '旨美', and its meaning also means 'delicious'. Considering the Chinese consonants, vocabulary structure, and meaning of the new title, '飮食旨美方' will finally match the identity of 'Eumsikdimibang'.
